Abstract: WPF and Silverlight data binding require you to fire PropertyChanged events at just the right times. The View Model has to know when the Data Model changes so that it can fire these events. I'll demonstrate Update Controls, an open source library that automatically discovers the dependencies that the View Model has upon the Data Model. I'll show how Update Controls eliminates bookkeeping code from your View Model, and how it enables previously impossible patterns of interaction.
